    Speaker for the June 7th meeting
    Dr. Jay A. Perman, sixth president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore since July 2010, will speak about the university’s professional schools in nursing, pharmacy, public health, law, medicine and human services. Dr. Perman continues his practice as a pediatric gastroenterologist through his weekly President’s Clinic where he teaches team-based health care to the students. He received his doctor of medicine degree with distinction in 1972 from Northwestern University and completed a fellowship at Harvard Medical School and at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston.     Ambassador Vernon Dubois Penner Jr., a retired U.S. diplomat and former ambassador to Cape Verde (1986-1989), will speak about summer travel abroad. He completed tours in Frankfurt, Warsaw, Oporto, Zurich and Kobe-Osaka. As deputy assistant secretary of state, he led the Visa Office in the State Department.     Speaker for the June 21st meeting
    Paul “Bo” Bollinger Jr., executive director of Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating since 2016, will discuss the organization and how it provides opportunities for those with disabilities to participate in boating on the Chesapeake Bay. He previously was a CRAB board member. A boater since his youth, he worked 16 years for aviation professional and trade associations and in the private sector. He is the founder of the Recovering Warrior Sailing Regatta that is supported by CRAB, the Naval Academy and the National Sailing Hall of Fame. The luncheon costs $18 for visitors.
