Crab Feast Grant Recipients Announced

          

   Annapolis, MD (January 6, 2019) – The Rotary Club of Annapolis has announced grants totaling $45,000 from the net proceeds of the August 2018 World’s Largest Crab Feast.

            The 21 recipients are:

            Anne Arundel County Court Appointed Special Advocates; 

            Annapolis Green;

            Annapolis Police Explorer Post 199; 

            Anne Arundel County Food Bank; 

            Asbury United Methodist Church Assistance Network;

            Blue Ribbon Project; 

            Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County;

            Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating;

            Friends of the Stanton Center Youth Programs;

            Germantown Elementary School Backpack Buddies;

            HeartSmart – The Cliff R. Roop Foundation; 

            Heritage Baptist Church Backpack Buddies Food Assistance Program;

            HOPE For All Inc.;

            Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation Inc.;

            Leadership Anne Arundel;

            Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland;

            Rebuilding Together;

            Seeds 4 Success Inc.;

            The ARC Central Chesapeake Region;

            The Light House; and

            Wellness House of Annapolis.

 

            The club received 57 applications for grants totaling more than $193,000. The recipients were selected by committee members with net proceeds distributed according to committee votes.

           

            Now 98 years old, the Rotary Club of Annapolis raises funds each year at its crab feast to distribute to local organizations to improve the quality of life in the community. The club will host the 74th annual Crab Feast on Friday, August 2, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Ticket information will be posted at www.annapoisrotary.org.
