Annapolis Rotary Crabs to Go a Big Success!

Letter to the Editor - Thank you Annapolis!

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Annapolis, thank you to the greater Annapolis community for supporting Rotary Crabs To Go, our drive-through crab and corn fundraiser, held August 7 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Friends, families, and community partners ordered the equivalent of 220 bushels of crabs and purchased over $5,000 in raffle tickets, netting approximately $35,000 to help our local nonprofit organizations during this difficult time.

We are thankful to generous sponsors and contributors, without whom, this would not have been possible, including Exelon Generation, Severn Bank, ProMD Health; in-kind sponsors Fast Signs, Pinnacle Parking, Reliable Contracting, Southwest Airlines, and Chesapeake Seafood Catering; and numerous individuals and families who made gifts. We greatly appreciate media partners for publicizing the event, including The Capital, WNAV, What’s Up Magazine, BayWeekly / Chesapeake Bay Magazine, Visit Annapolis, and Beepr Buzz.

Thank you, Rotarians and volunteers, working locally and around the world, demonstrating our motto, “Service Above Self.”

Funds will be promptly allocated to support area nonprofit organizations addressing critical needs of residents. The grant application will be available on our website soon: www.annapolisrotary.org.

Again, thank you for you supporting this year’s new endeavor to provide crabs and corn safely, have some fun, and raise needed funds.

Save the date for the first Friday in August 2021, when we hope to welcome the community back to the

stadium for our traditional afternoon of fun and fellowship at the Rotary Club of Annapolis’ 75th Annual Crab Feast.
