Rotary Club of Annapolis Holds 90th Annual Navy Night

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Rotary Club of Annapolis held its 90th Rotary-Navy Night on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the N Room in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.  There were 110 attendees at the dinner, including 19 USNA staff members, 7 Midshipment selected by the Commandant’s office, 43 Rotarians (including 4 USNA graduates), and 41 Rotary guests and spouses.  United States Marine Corps Colonel James P. McDonough, USNA Commandant of Midshipmen, was the guest speaker at the event.

President of the Rotary Club of Annapolis, Robert Dews stated: “ Our annual Navy Night is the Rotary Club of Annapolis’ longest-standing tradition, and this year proved to be another great evening of fellowship with USNA staff and spouses, Midshipment, Rotarians, family, and friends.  We were pleased to show our appreciation for USNA leadership and staff and the critical mission they support.”

Since 1931, the Rotary Club of Annapolis has sponsored an annual Rotary-Navy Night.  While the venue has evolved over the years, the purpose of the event has remained the same – strengthening the bonds between two organizations whose missions are dedicated to service.  While the Rotary and USNA use different methods to achieve their missions, both serve as a gift to Annapolis and to the world at large through the tremendous deeds performed to benefit mankind.
